Drifters and Friends this is an open event so feel free to invite anyone you think would have a good time. The plan is to get to the field at 0900 hours, build a couple of walls, raise a couple of walls, build a couple of bunkers, break for lunch then come back and play some tactical objective paintball from 1300 -1730.

Building Equipment/supply needs: Nail gun, compressor, cordless drills, cordless sawzall, nails, screws, 2×4’s (preferably 8’ long but 4’ pieces will work), ply wood, pallets and strait t-posts. Let Posey know what equipment you will be bringing.

Paintball Logistics: You can bring your own paint or we can supply some on request. If you need paint post up and say “I need paint”. HPA will be limited. Please fill your tanks before you come.

Commander 507th PIR

82nd Airborne Division

This year was an epic win for us. Getting to hang out and cut up with everyone on and off the field was a blast. Watching all of us fight hard, lead charges and take objectives made me a very proud commander. This year I most certainly must say it was the actions of our entire team and not just one individual that allowed us to dominate across the field at every scenario.

The Performance

Colonel Posey commanded the 507th PIR, 82nd Airborne Division. XO was LTC Kingswitness, Company Commanders were Chief of the Drifters and Ironman of Team Forerunners. 507th PIR unit strength was 40 – 50 split evenly between companies.

The 82nd Airborne Division was dropped somewhere west of Colleville. At 0900 hours the 507th PIR. moved out towards the airfield. Recon sniper reports indicated light resistance at the top of the east side of the valley. Deployed Dog Company, 507th PIR to the engage contact and move up the hill. Charlie Company was staged just west of Dog Company ready to react to enemy flanking movement. Dog Company became engaged half way up the ravine and a German QRF of about 40 troops came assaulting down the hill. Dog Company sustained moderate losses but was able to halt and eliminate 80% of the Germans coming down the hill.

The German QRF began to flank to the south of Dog Company so I deployed Charlie Company quickly to support Dog Companies southern flank. Charlie Company moved up online with Dog Company and the 507th established a battle line. The battle line gained ground and pushed all remaining Germans out of the woods. The battle line extended 50 meters north and south at the tree line to the west of the Airfield. Three tanks circling the area firing into the woods halted any advance on the airfield.

Knowing our first objective was the Airfield I ordered Dog Company to provide cover fire for Charlie Company to assault into the airfield. After two failed attempts to establish a foothold in the airfield the 507th PIR was red on numbers and yellow on logistics. Seeing reinsertion coming up in 5 minutes, I ordered the entire 507th PIR to make an all-out assault into the airfield and then regroup in the Dead Zone. Upon assaulting into the airfield we encountered a force of 40 Germans defending the Airfield. The 507th could not establish a foothold and the Regiment was eliminated.

The 507th PIR regrouped in the Dead Zone and we reinserted within 2 minutes of arrival at 0940 hours. Orders were given to reinforce center Colleville and the Church. Upon exiting the Dead Zone we encountered a small German force directly South of Colleville about 20 meters. Alpha Squad of Charlie Company became decisively engaged and went one for one with the Germans. The rest of the 507th PIR skirted the encounter and headed to center Colleville.

Entered Colleville at 0945 hours with the 507th PIR. I was tasked by General Risken to take command of center Colleville and direct troops to where they needed to be. I had Charlie Company, 507th PIR guard Center Colleville and serve as a QRF and Dog Company defend the Western flank of Colleville. All around we had great commanders in all areas of the defense of Colleville and we made intelligent requests for reinforcements as needed. I set up my primary CP (Command Post) in Center Colleville to best direct the troops that were constantly coming in seeking direction.

All morning German tanks played a major factor in keeping our heads down. It wasn’t until we established some very good anti-tank ambush positions did the tanks stop harassing us. The Germans attempted 4 major pushes to take Colleville. All 4 pushes were halted at Colleville. The defense of Colleville never faltered once throughout the entire day. HUAGH!!!

All players must have an APPA # and all Registration will be done through Elite Sports – NO LONGER USING APPA. But each player must get an APPA # so we may check rankings and make sure Rosters are OK.

Beginner/D6

Intended for Players with little or no tournament paintball experience.

We Were Soldiers is a scenario that is based on the Battle of Ia Drang on November 14, 1965 — the first major engagement of the United States Army in the Vietnam War. This is a 26 hr of Scenario for $100. That’s right you get 1 case of High end paint, A Friday night party, Entry on to the best scenario field in the country, camping, real military style missions, Pyrotechnics, All events air, and entry into Thousands of Dollars worth of prizes.
