Description
The Specialist is a veteran Shooter who specializes in one or more areas of combat or support. To become a Specialist you must first have obtained the rank of Shooter and have played as a Shooter for at least one event. To become a specialist you must be nominated by Team Leadership. A Specialist has also adopted the Drifters Full Uniform.
As a Specialist you have taken the Fire Team Training course and can help teach the course. At events you must be prepared to fulfill your specialized role at all times. Finally, carry out additional assigned tasks and responsibilities as directed by a Team Sergeant, Team Officer or Team Captain.
Specialist Combat and Support Roles
Leadership
- Fire Team Leader - You specialize in leading small combat teams. You are the primary person who leads 2 to 4 man teams within your squad at events. You have full responsibility to lead your Fire Team to the best of your abilities.
- Sniper/Recon Team Leader - You specialize in leading a small combat team that specializes in stealth, camouflage and reconnaissance. See Sniper/Recon below.
- Heavy Weapons Team Leader - You specialize in leading a small combat team that specializes in the use of a particular heavy weapon in coordination with the rest of the team. See Heavy Weapons below.
Combat
- Grenadier - You specialize in effectively placing smoke and paint grenades on target. You are relied upon to deploy smoke and paint grenades when called upon at events.
- Heavy Weapons - You specialize in double troubles, paintball mortars, and/or foam rocket launchers, etc.
- SAW (Squad Automatic Weapon) Gunner - You specialize in laying down high volume effective suppressing fire. You are the primary person who establishes the base of fire for the team when assaulting. When defending you are the primary person who defends the most likely area of advance for the team.
- Sniper/Recon - You specialize in stealth, camouflage and reconnaissance. You are the primary person who goes on long and short range reconnaissance missions for the team. When grouped with the team in combat maneuvers you take point. When grouped with the team in assault maneuvers you take the ghost flank. When grouped with the team in defense you set up an ambush on the least likely area of advance.
Support
- Logistics - You specialize in carrying extra munitions and gear for all members of your team. You coordinate with a team leader to figure out what munitions you may need to carry. This could vary from smoke grenades, paint grenades, extra paintballs, nerf rockets, tools, batteries or even a secondary marker.
- Medic - You specialize in carrying out the medic role at events for the team.
- RTO (Radio Telephone Operator) - You specialize in combat communications and are the link between the Drifters and other teams on the field. You maintain close proximity to the senior most leader on the field. Your job is to accurately report the team sitrep (Situation Report) to other friendly teams across the field.
